The JET Program: A Great Way to Explore the Seven Wonders of Japan while Teaching English

Recently, I applied for the JET Program to teach English for next year.  I am passionate about Japanese culture and really want to experience what this great country has to offer.  The position I applied for was an ALT(Assistant Language Teacher).  Anyone that is a former JET participant, what did you get out of your experience while you were there?  Also what other countries did you visit on your time off?
