Exploration of Mixed Race and Identity in Japan

Japan has released the documentary Hafu.  The term hafu refers to an individual that has mixed race Japanese identity.  Globalization plays a key role in the world we live in today.  As we should all know, a majority of people around the world are mixed with another race such as Japanese-Brazilian or Chinese-Jamaican.

The goal of this documentary is to provide them with a greater understanding of how a person’s identity can have a tremendous impact on their life.  A lot of times, people fail to realize the difficulties that individuals with mixed identities face on a daily basis.  Belonging to two nationalities can bring confusion among certain individuals because they might not have learned how to cope with it.

Hopefully, this documentary will educate everyone about the ongoing struggles that people of mixed-race identity have to deal with in today’s society.  For more information about this topic, I will provide two links that everyone can check outhttp://globalvoicesonline.org/2014/01/09/hafu-the-film-explores-mixed-race-japanese-identity/
