Remake of Classic Anime Film Ghost In the Shell Will Hit Big Screen in the Future

British director Rupert Sanders, known for the 2012 blockbuster hit Snow White and the Huntsman, is set to take on the remake of the 1995 anime film Ghost in the Shell.  The original anime film version was directed by Mamoru Oshii and manga version was created by Masamune Shirow.  Dreamworks Studios offered him the opportunity to direct this project.  The remake will be based on a screenplay written by William Wheeler with Avi Arad and produced by Ari Arad and Steven Paul.  In the past, Hollywood have been known to radically change the original storyline to make their movies more appealing to a mass audience even if it is inaccurate.  Hopefully, the filmmaker will work with producers to help them stay true to the “Puppet Master” storyline from the original version.  One example of a movie that tanked at the box office was the 2001 release of “Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within” directed by Hironobu Sakaguchi.  We will see if fans are going to turn out for this one.  For further information,   click on the links below:
