“The Wind Rises” Opens Past Weekend in Limited Release with $306,000 in the U.S.

Hayao Miyazaki’s final film “The Wind Rises” opened this past weekend in limited release around the U.S. with $306,000.  Disney released the film and Studio Ghibli International produced the English-language dubbed version starring actors Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Emily Blunt with producer Frank Marshall.  Currently, it is being shown in different cities around the country such as Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, and Washington D.C.  “The Wind Rises” will see a wide release this upcoming Friday.  The film won the Annie Award for Writing in an Animated Feature Production on February 1st.  It is currently nominated for an Oscar in the Best Animated Film category.  For more information, click on the link and leave your comments.
