Michael Kors Brand Expands Overseas Market in Japan

Popular fashion line Michael Kors expands it overseas market in Japan.  The designer opened his first store in in Omotesando, Tokyo back in August 2010.  Omotesando is known as one of the most popular fashion districts alongside Harajuku and Shibuya.  The Michael Kors brand has huge purchasing power and appeal among international luxury brands.

A quote by Timothy Schepis at Tokyo Fashion Daily comments that “Since the opening of the first Omotesando store in August 2010, Michael Kors has opened an additional 18 stores throughout Japan, and there is no plans to stop yet as Michael Kors has plans to open a total of 10 or more this fiscal year alone; with 2 already opened and 8 left to go.”

Other Asian countries that have strong markets include China, South Korea, and Taiwan.  Despite enormous competition and ongoing changes in today’s fashion industry, the Michael Kors brand has tremendous potential to maintain success in the Japanese market for many years to come.
