One Chinese student in Japan uses her love of anime to improve relationships between the two countries. Currently, Yao Lijin studies Japanese in college. In December, she won first prize in an annual Japanese essay writing contest competing against more than 4,000 participants.
I strongly believe her exposure to the culture will motivate more young people from China in experiencing Japanese culture firsthand. Anime can play a huge role driving the younger generation towards creating a better future for themselves.
College students like Yao serves as a major catalyst of change. It proves to everyone that one person can make a difference and can overcome any obstacle through the power of art.
What impact do you think the power of anime can have on promoting a greater understanding between Japan and China?
