China Hosts Fifth Annual Beijing International Film Festival

China will hosts its fifth year of the Beijing International FIlm Festival. This event is going to showcase 930 films across the world give them a chance to compete for the Tiantan Award, one of the most prestigious awards in the Chinese film industry. Some of the categories includes Best Feature Film, Best Actor, Best Actress, and Best Music.

Participants will include Chinese actress Zhou Xun, Brazilian director Fernando Meirelles, Hong Kong director Peter Chan, and South Korean filmmaker Kim Ki-duk known for his eccentric art-house cinematic style. Each year, the Beijing International Film Festival will continue to provide upcoming filmmakers, producers, actors and writers the opportunity to gain exposure and take their career to the next level.

There are many talented people in the film industry that go unrecognized. This festival will give the chance to get their work recognized by the Chinese filmgoing audience and eventually the rest of the world can catch on.

Film is a powerful medium that can touch lives and change the way we think about our daily interactions with others.  As long as people are touched by what stories they can relate to on film, it will stay with them forever no matter how big or small the moment may be.  

The event will be held from April 16 to April 23.
